Mercedes finally released its scooter, as announced on in September 2019 , called eScooter, in the English style. Less original than the ultra light scooter from the Korean manufacturer Hyundai , the Mercedes trott ‘was born from the collaboration with the reference Swiss manufacturer: Micro Mobility . But why is a premium vehicle manufacturer embarking on the marketing of scooters? To prove once again his good ecological conscience. Considering that city centers are too crowded, Mercedes explains that the owners of its cars will be able to park around the city and continue their journey by scooter. This is called last mile mobility.

This scooter decorated with the famous three-pointed star is not a racing car but a two-wheeler capable of traveling at 20 km / h over a distance ranging from 20 to 25 km, depending on the weight of the driver. The weight precisely, it is perhaps the main fault of this lovely scooter since it weighs 13.5 kg and is therefore in the high average of motor scooters. Users can therefore build up their muscles by taking it out of the trunk of their car. We will be reassured by remembering that this weight is a guarantee of manufacturing quality commensurate with the strength of Mercedes . On the other hand, the price of this small vehicle is quite premium since it will be necessary to pay 1299 € at the dealers of the mark, in the accessories department.

Finally, be aware that this is not the first time that Mercedes has offered alternative means of travel to its customers. In the 1970s in the United States, Mercedes offered an optional 50 cm3 moped from the Austrian brand Puch, in order to encourage its customers not to use their car over too short distances, but to favor a means of transport that consumes less energy. example to go to tennis or do some shopping downtown. Morality: history repeats itself, it is the great cyclo (engine) of life.
